Baxter’s Pep Squad

All right, it is time to admit: we are foster failures. We have fallen for this gentle pooch and decided that our home should be his forever home. What a journey it has been! Starting out as novice dog fosters, but experienced dog nurses, we have taken in a sweet dog, only to learn that there will be a lot more nursing than teaching how to shake hands and play dead. But all challenges come with blessings. Ours are the wonderful people Baxter has brought into our lives. My daughter, Baxter’s caregiver, calls them Baxter’s Pep Squad. To all of our new friends who care deeply about this sweet boy: Thank you!

I can totally relate. I’ve been fostering cats for about five years now and have only adopted one (who had medical needs). I now have five more foster cats in my home and am considering adopting one of them. I give you and your family credit for doing the foster care thing. It takes very special people to do so.

To everyone who has helped this sweet dog find such a great home, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Removing him from the place he called ‘home’ before was a great source of both joy and stress for me as I just didn’t know how he would adjust to being in a ‘real home environment’. I am so very grateful to everyone involved in helping him!
